Love the whole Ginga Tetsudou 999 (TV) reference but this was pretty dark and Abuto went too far.

Making Setsura cry is always going too far! D:<

Abuto's always been a jerk, though. Even at the beginning. He's just surrounded by a bunch of dirty enablers, now.

That's not a "mass driver," but... sure, whatever. Maetel! ♥

Their countdown to launch was too quick. 40,300 km/h is just about 11.2 km/s. They were counting it down at around 50 km/s, though. :P

Kind of silly declaration that aliens and humans can coexist. Why exactly?

Humans can barely coexist, with constant wars based on ideology and imperialism (like Americans invading everywhere in the last 20 years), and all that with continued population growth and environment degradation humanity own survival not guaranteed even on medium term.

What legal status of "coexistants" will be? Are they all gain citizenship of heavily over-populated and due to this pretty anti-migrant Japan? Or their space station will be recognized as separate state?

If antagonist faction conveniently leave the Earth once again it will be extremely lazy writing.

Bruh it’s a kids show stfu

"Kids" ain't equal "idiots", and lowering the writing bar because younger audience eat it up anyway is not actually good excuse to do it.
The less logic gaps left the better the show - lazy shows forgotten quickly, while well-though-out can span decades-long franchise. For example "Gundam" back in the late 1970ies started as collaboration with the toy maker "Clover" aimed at young-teen audiences. While the idea creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino, planned it to became one-shot work, it turned out one of the longest-running and lucrative mecha franchises due to in no small reason how detailed it was relative to contemporary works in that genre.
